Dad's Hats is the online version of the famous family-owned hat store - Queen Bee, located on 3842 North Illinois Street in Indianapolis, Indiana. The store (Yes a real live brick-and-mortar retail store!) has attained legendary status not only in the city and state, but also throughout the entire Midwest as "the" place for classic men's dress hats and casual caps. For over thirty years, Mitzy (owner) or the “Hat Lady” as she has been affectionately nicknamed, has been providing her customers with the finest selection of classic men's hats such as the fedora, derby, newsboy, and porkpie as well as the best in contemporary brands like Kangol, Stetson, Dobbs, Bailey and Christys' Hats.

Queen Bee was originally founded in 1978 by Mitzy and her husband Paul, and was jointly owned and operated until Paul’s passing in 1987. Mitzy has courageously and effectively managed the day-to-day operations of the business on her own since 1987. The online name of dadshats.com is a loving tribute to her late husband and partner.

The majority of Mitzy's customers are loyal regulars who return month after month, year after year. Some customers come from as far away as Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, and even Florida. Her complete and unmatched selection of the best in vintage, classic brands, and styles, coupled with an unparalleled inventory of sizes and colors, has become her hallmark. Everyday, new customers who visit her store are awed and overwhelmed by the enormous selection of styles and brands of classic men's hats.

Mitzy has not only survived but also thrived over the past twenty years. This is a testament to the outstanding customer service that she consistently provides. She has not spent a dime on advertising in such traditional ways as newspaper or radio. Her best marketing campaign was and still is providing outstanding customer service to each and every customer that walks into her store. This long-term strategy took a lot of faith and patience but it has turned out to be her biggest attribute. Positive word-of-mouth has helped her business grow each and every year.

Mitzy’s work ethic is also an inspiration. During the past twenty years, she has not closed her store for business once due to illness. It is an amazing testament to her work ethic and dedication. If you ask her why she never allows herself to take a sick day, she will simply tell you, “I don’t have time to be sick. My customers depend on me to be there each and every day, rain or shine. I can't let them down.”
